Position Purpose Supervise the daily operations of the credentialing function and provide guidance and performance feedback to staff


  • Oversee the credentialing and re-credentialing process for assigned business units
  • Oversee staff including performance management activities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for activities related to credentialing
  • Investigate and resolve complex credentialing issues
  • Be an active participant in departmental planning initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and overall departmental effectiveness
  • Provide training to team members to ensure accurate and timely and credentialing of providers
  • Prepare materials and facilitate Credentialing Committee meetings
  • Collaborate on facilitation of Clean Committee process
  • Monitoring performance to ensure credentialing quality benchmarks are met
  • Assist with and as needed, represent Credentialing during preparation and reviews associated with audit activity (e.g., NCQA, EQRO, Internal Audit)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within and across departmental lines


Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 3+ years of combined management and provider data management, credentialing or healthcare operations (i.e. claims processing, billing, provider relations or contracting) experience, preferably in a managed care or insurance environment.
