Position Purpose The Chief Data Officer (CDO) is responsible for leading the organization's data strategy and ensuring that data is effectively utilized to drive business decisions. The CDO will lead the development and execution of data-driven strategies, provide guidance on data management and analytics best practices, and oversee the design, implementation and measurement of data-related initiatives that support the organization's goals and objectives.


Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the CDO will partner with executive leaders and business unit, product, and operation leaders across the enterprise to drive enterprise data and analytic solutions that lead to positive customer impacts and insights


Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives and ensures the effective utilization of data assets.


Establish and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.


Lead the design, development, and implementation of data systems and platforms that support data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data-driven initiatives that support business objectives.


Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that data initiatives are aligned with their needs and priorities.


Foster a data-driven culture across the organization, promoting data literacy and driving data-driven decision-making.


Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data management and analytics.


Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and policies.


Develop and manage a high-performing data team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure their success.


Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, data science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, and/or business intelligence; at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role. Strong understanding of data governance, data architecture, and data management principles and best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization. Proven experience in developing and implementing successful data strategies that support business objectives. Deep understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends in data management and analytics. Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations and policies. Strong leadership skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams. Experience working in a large, complex organization is preferred.
