Postdoc in Computer Science and Cyber-Physical Systems for Precision Agriculture at Saint Louis University
Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral position in computer science and cyber-physical systems for precision agriculture applications in the Networking Research Group led by Dr. Flavio Esposito. Applications are accepted until the position is filled, with a potential starting date of November 1st, 2023.
This position is funded by an NSF project titled “Collaborative Research: CPS: TTP Option: Medium: Sharing Farm Intelligence via Edge Computing”. The project will develop a cyber-physical system, a novel data processing platform, that integrates remote sensing, computer vision/photogrammetry, AI, plant phenotyping, computer networking and privacy. The initial appointment is for one year and can be renewed for the second year contingent upon funding availability and satisfactory performance evaluation. The postdoc candidate is expected to catalyze collaborations among the PIs and jointly supervised Drs. Vasit Sagan, Flavio Esposito, Nadia Shakoor, Reza Tourani, and Kate Holdener.
The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in computer science, geospatial science, electronic/computer engineer or related field applied to agricultural challenges. The individual selected should have strong technical expertise and computing skills, e.g., software engineering, AI/ML. The candidate is expected to have a record of scholarly research and publications, and a strong desire and ability to write grant proposals.

4) 2 letter of recommendations, at least one of which from the applicant’s Ph.D. mentor.
