The Role


We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. As a Manager, UX Design directs and oversees prioritized projects and their associated deliverables. This role will oversee Centene's Empowerment Portfolio UX team, and supervise the design cycle ensuring compliance with design system and A11Y standards.


Position Purpose


Responsible for managing user experience design-related activities. This role will understand technical and business requirements related to user experience, collaborate with other UX teams to create user-centered solutions leveraging data driven decisions and support the continual optimization of product development. This role also mentors and coaches junior team members and brings in thought leadership in emerging UX design areas.


Understands end-user needs and leads delivery of intuitive, user-centered solutions that enhance user satisfaction by improving the usability and accessibility for the end user of applications.


Improves the quality of overall design output through system and human centered design thinking.


Owns and manages key UX artifacts, such as user journeys, personas, longitudinal research, and UX measurement.


Works with a cross-functional team to strategize and build compelling user-centric visions, including organizing people and processes for alignment.


Pitches and presents concepts, proposals, and updates to executive stakeholders and translate complex concepts and interactions into simple, elegant, and coherent designs.


Collaborates with UX research, content writers, and product management teams to develop innovative experiences for end users.


Manages the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conduct performance reviews, provide leadership, technical guidance and coaching to UX designers.


Shares knowledge and develops staff capabilities to strengthen understanding of user experience design, business issues and best practices.


Develops and communicates organizational objectives; inspires and motivates team members to achieve results.


Performs other duties as assigned.


Complies with all policies and standards.


Additionally you will bring


Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience.


Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.


Technical Skills


Experience with Journey Mapping; Research required


Experience With Figma Required


Experience with Other leveraging current digital user experience and design tools such as but not limited to Adobe CC, Sketch, and InVision required


Experience with iOS; Software Design; Web Development required


UX Portfolio Link or URL required


Experience Working In An Enterprise Level Healthcare Environment Preferred
