Program Overview

S&I (Sustainability & Innovations) is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to bring together the power of Open Banking and multi-rail capabilities to optimize payment decision-making and provide best-in-class payment experiences for consumers

Job Description Summary

Lead day-to-day system development and maintenance of the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs). Collaborate with business and technical partners to identify and scope the opportunities, outline potential value and ROI, identify risks, benefits, and constraints. Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise.

Role

Responsibilities
  • Successfully lead major projects and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term business implications. Create solutions with a high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality, and faster time to market
  • Lead daily system development and maintenance of the product while ensuring the team meets service level agreements (SLAs). Collaborate with business and technical partners to identify scope and opportunities, outline potential value and ROI, identify risks, benefits, and constraints. Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise
  • Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions
  • Defines requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes, and best practices
  • Automates and simplifies team development, test, deployment, and operations processes
  • Works with new frameworks and technologies, assists with prototyping and proof-of-concepts, participates in code reviews, and helps ensure a high level of code quality from the team.
  • Documents applications and can train new team members on how the team’s software is constructed, operated and fits into the bigger picture
  • Troubleshoot complex problems, determine root cause, and permanently correct
  • Provide support on activities such development environment management, establish required connectivity, provision developer access to various tools and resources
  • Understand the maintenance, operational and runtime characteristics of the platform software
  • Strives to improve operational metrics and overall platform performance
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Identify and implement design principles such as DRY, Single Responsibility, SOLID
  • Customer onboarding support experience, collaboration with downstream service teams

Requirements
  • Java, REST API, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, Oracle, GIT, JavaScript, TypeScript (3.7.5), Gherkin, Spring Frameworks, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Web Flux, Lombok, microservices and Angular 9.x
  • Hands on experience with security, key, and certificate management
  • Test Driven Development
  • Performance and monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace
  • Deep understanding of 12-factor application development practices
