This position is involved with processing petabytes or even exabytes of data daily. This position also works on diverse projects that require implementing complex solutions with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and making available large sets of location-aware data (drone and satellite imagery, health data records, plant phenotypic data, and social media data) to turn it into meaningful information.

This position is funded by external grants with an initial appointment for a year that can be renewed for multiple years depending on satisfactory progress and funding availability.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Develops image processing back-end code to support AL/ML and/or analysis software in a production environment to deliver imagery products

  • Designs and implements AI/ML, statistical, or physics-based algorithms to provide quality data analytics service

  • Creates scaling algorithms with cloud computing with scalable application programming interfaces (API) and associative architecture to support big data analytics

  • Works with the team and customers in the design and execution of custom software packages including APIs and mobile apps

  • Works collaboratively with the data analytics team, and carry out tasks such as field data collection, calibration, postprocessing, and analysis
