"Job Overview:


Provides extensive leadership, direction, and supervision of technical staff performing design, architecture, implementation, security and support of large multi-site, multi-vendor MPLS network communication environments.


Role


Supervision of existing network resources, project management, implementation and oversight of network projects.


  • Supervise a staff that develops detailed requirements for upgrading existing corporate and MasterCard networks, as well as re-architecting network segments in order to facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth.
  • Manage the resolution of network communications and operations problems impacting customer or backbone access and performance globally.
  • Participate in telecommunications-related initiatives.
  • Research and develop innovative network solutions and support chronic complex problem resolution.
  • Manage assigned regional projects, which include responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation.
  • Support Vendor management.
  • Recommend future directions and participate in strategic and financial planning.
  • Coach and develop direct reports and other employees and ensure department or project is adequately staffed, trained and effectively managed.
  • Assume role of primary technical advisor to management on emerging technologies that could impact new developments.


Education


Bachelor’s Degree in related functional area or equivalent work experience with exposure to management theories and concepts.


Knowledge / Experience


  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco’s product portfolio.
  • Extensive knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices.
  • Extensive experience in leadership position of a team consisting of five or more personnel.
  • Limited supervision and leads in determining team’s and departmental objectives.
  • Periodic work direction and review.
