We’re looking for a Director, Brand Marketing to join the team in St. Louis, MO! This is a strategic marketing leadership role responsible for driving growth across a portfolio of consumer products through integrated brand and product marketing strategies. This individual owns both sides of the growth equation: the brand's go-to-market voice (positioning, campaigns, demand creation) and foundation (roadmap, pricing, lifecycle, and profitability). Acting as business leader and internal champion for assigned brands/products, this role translates consumer insight and market data into go-to-market strategy, quantifiable value propositions, and executable plans - while building and leading the team that delivers them.

What We Do

What began in Nick Tacony’s basement as a post-war, start-up company 80 years ago has since grown into an internationally recognized global products company with 8 locations, 300+ employees, and successful sales in over 100 countries. Now operating under experienced 3rd generation family leadership, Tacony Corporation (“Tacony”) is ready to write its next chapter as a distributor, manufacturer, wholesaler, and marketer of diverse and innovative products in the sewing, home floor care, and commercial cleaning marketplace. We aren't just looking for anybody, we are dedicated to finding someone who enjoys what they do, enjoys the people they work with and for, and want to be part of a growth oriented, people first, purposeful organization that is dedicated to the customer, and its mission and vision.

What You'll Do

  • 80 / 20 Priority Focus
    • Own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy (roadmap, positioning, and brand plan) for assigned brands/categories, ensuring it is grounded in market and consumer data.
    • Set and defend pricing and provide investment decisions using ROI and profitability data, not intuition.
    • Build and lead a high-performing team and orchestrate cross-functional/agency partners to execute plans and drive performance.
    • Track the leading indicators (share, ROI, funnel/lifecycle health) that reveal whether strategy is working and adjust fast.
  • Product
    • Function as business leader, portfolio advocate, and internal champion of assigned brands/products through the full lifecycle.
    • Develop strategies and roadmaps that align with business vision, customer needs, competitive landscape and category opportunity.
    • Conduct and analyze market research to understand customer requirements, competitive positioning, and market trends that inform product and brand direction.
    • Act as voice of the customer during development, establishing requirements including performance, quality, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
    • Identify opportunities to shape the future pipeline across brands and categories by monitoring industry trends and competitors' strategies, including niche and differentiated advantages.
  • Price

    • Develop and deploy market-driven pricing strategies based on value delivered and competitive landscape.
    • Leverage consumer insights, brand analytics, and profitability data to track ROI and refine investment across the portfolio.
    • Manage product line positioning improvements via cost optimization or feature changes based on competitive intelligence and customer value.
    • Manage MAP and MSRP to ensure brand compliance.
  • Place

    • Ensure strategies define target customers and market criteria to drive project and investment prioritization.
    • Ensure brand and product consistency across all touchpoints.
    • Familiar or experienced with work developing and driving content through social media, affiliates, influencers and creative marketing agencies.
  • Promotion

    • Communicate and support the marketing vision through specific projects, action plans, and tactics.
    • Plan and develop marketing materials, campaigns, and promotions that build brand awareness, acquisition, and retention through a wholesale lens for retail and end user customer.
    • Collaborate with agency and external partners to create demand and give brands a competitive edge.
    • Provide product management support for on-site meetings and events with customers and/or distributors.
  • People

    • Lead, mentor, and manage the brand/product team to execute short- and long-term plans and hit departmental KPIs.
    • Collaborate closely with internal and external cross-functional teams to align brand and product priorities.
    • Develop others through coaching, feedback, and performance documentation; delegate effectively by empowering the team to own their work and decisions.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and servant leadership, seeking to understand before being understood and addressing difficult issues directly.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • At least 7+ years of combined brand marketing and/or product management experience, including in-house experience within a CPG or manufacturing organization supporting multiple brands/product lines; agency experience a plus
  • At least 3+ years of experience leading marketing or product teams
  • Proven success leading brands / products with a strong track record developing strategy and executing go-to-market strategies and product roadmap plans
  • Deep understanding of consumer insights, brand analytics, pricing strategy, and go-to-market strategy to make data-driven decisions that drive ROI
  • Experience with tools and methodologies specific to product line management, including market research and pricing analysis.
  • Strong track record developing brand strategies and executing integrated marketing programs
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Power BI; knowledge of ERP systems, PIM systems and MarTech a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally
  • Product Management certification a plus
