Sr. Maintenance Planner
Collaborates with, system operations control, materials department and various operational support teams to ensure the companies FAA approved Airbus Maintenance Program (AMP) requirements are planned and scheduled within their respective compliance periods. The SR. Maintenance Planner has the responsibility of ensuring maintenance manpower, workload, tooling and materials are available for the scheduled maintenance activities.
- Prepares routine and non-routine maintenance work orders associated with the maintenance visit requirements.
- Runs a scheduled maintenance forecast report for up to three years or as required for review of future upcoming events.
- Ensures that future maintenance requirements are coordinated with other support departments including tooling, materials, quality control, engineering and line maintenance.
- Schedules and coordinates maintenance requirements with each maintenance city performing the work to ensure capability, MHs and ground time requirements are met for the completion of the assigned work.
- Schedules time controlled items and “A” Checks for timely compliance within the approved maintenance program.
- Monitors and runs forecast for all time controlled parts.
- Ensures that shop visits for parts are upheld via communication with Materials Team.
- Monitors Spirit Airlines Engine program.

- UER’s Routing of company aircraft.
- Self-prioritize tasks based on operational need and safety.
- Scheduling of AMP tasks based on time remaining; flight hours, flight cycles and calendar days.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the MX Planning Leadership Team.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years' of experience
Basic Requirements
1. Domestic & International travel approximately 25% of the time.
2. Ability to sit for extended periods (computer work).
3. Must be willing to be fingerprinted and have the ability to pass a background check to obtain security badges for airport locations.
- Maintain excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrate strong technical skills, organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Show thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, AOSSP, FAA, DOT and TSA regulations through documented research.
- Possess knowledge of ticketing, gate, and ramp operations.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Spirit’s operational policies and procedures.
- Exert up to 25 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of Sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
