Analyst, Operations Analytics

The Analyst, Operations Analytics uses data analytics and predictive modeling techniques to provide insight into network’s operational performance and reliability. This role suggests areas and methods of improving operations and measures the impact of recommendations. Assists in executing analytical approaches and methodologies and interpretation of results. Collects and analyzes external data to make recommendations presented to the company. Works as part of a team presenting reports to management used in decision making and strategic planning.

• Assist in development of operational KPIs, automated reporting, statistical analyses, corporate and departmental performance goals.
• Drive value by contributing to development of predictive models that forecast impact of operational metrics to the network and its stakeholders.
• Deliver detailed performance analysis on a station and system level to increase awareness of operational performance against established goals.
• Provide detailed analyses and recommendations using advanced statistical techniques to support strategic operational projects.
• Produce operational dashboards that show live views into specific pain points of the operation.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed to identify real world frontline problems and deliver actionable data driven solutions.
• Produce relevant visualizations and draft narratives for weekly and monthly reporting.
• Develop methods for benchmarking KPIs against industry/peers and collect industry relevant data.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to address current business questions, as needed.
• Ensure absolute integrity of data, DOT Submittals, reported KPIs, and consistency of reported data.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments). 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Analytics, Statistics, Math, Data Science or related field).
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Proficient in data querying and modeling languages such as SQL, R and Python.
• Experience with Data Visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau.  
• Aptitude in highly technical and data-intensive problem-solving, including the ability to work with multiple large-scale data sources.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically MS Excel (pivot tables, macros etc.) and Powerpoint.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to articulate views convincingly.
• Attention to detail with a drive for perfection in design and execution.
• Direct and open, builds and sustains relationships with all stakeholders.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented and thorough, able to provide accurate analysis under pressure.
• Able to work cross-functionally and effectively communicate and work with diverse business groups.
• Able to manage timelines and expectations and drive projects to completion.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, ethics, and discretion.
• Domestic & International travel under 10% of time.
• Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
