What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Workday Benefits Analyst is responsible for Workday functions relating to employee benefits including but not limited to benefit configuration, event set-up, data integrity, testing, report creation, employee benefit enrollment review and approval. This role is part of the benefits team but will also work closely with HRIS specialists on vendor integrations and other HCM functions.  The Workday Benefits Analyst will act as liaison between the company and benefit carriers, union representatives and employees and will ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert within the Benefits application in Workday
  • Set up and maintain all benefit configuration requirements including providers, groups, plans, event types, eligibility, rates, enrollment conditions, etc. as required
  • Test all changes made in Workday by creating test scripts and reporting findings to the manager. This includes changes made within the bi-annual Workday release project and other configuration changes as required
  • Lead all benefit related set-up and maintenance of annual open enrollment, implementations, site start-ups, union requirements, etc
  • Review and approve all benefit enrollment changes within Workday, including the review of supporting documentation
  • Create and maintain Benefits Learning Site in Workday
  • Create and maintain all new and existing reports in Workday to support SMEs
  • Work with internal HRIS as well as benefit vendors to ensure all existing and new incoming and outgoing integrations are accurate and scheduled timely
  • Collaborate with team on questions relating to file integrity
  • Troubleshoot all system issues relating to benefits
  • Act as SME when assisting employees with Workday related issues in the Benefits application
  • Assist with all government required filings and plan testing to ensure compliance
  • Back up other team members during periods of absence
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Some travel may be required

What You’ll need:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience configuring an HR system, preferably Workday
  • Experience in an office setting and working from home
  • Experience handling confidential/sensitive information
  • Experience in communicating and leading meetings with all levels of employees

Even better if you have...

  • Experience communicating with external vendors and agencies, preferred
  • Basic knowledge of benefit concepts and practices, preferred
  • Experience with HR system configuration, preferably Workday
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR Systems, preferably Workday
  • Strong systems aptitude with an eye toward improving processes and methods of work, leveraging automation and technology to simplify and drive consistency.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well in a team environment
  • A self-starter with exemplary organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, shift priorities and deliver timely results
  • Adaptable to change
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
