The Senior Financial Analyst is a member of the MTM Finance team with responsibilities for: contract analysis, profitability analysis, budget/forecast analysis, client reporting, and accounts receivable; all of which revolve around adhering to strict deadlines and providing accurate and pertinent analysis/information.
This role is a hybrid of work from home and in office (Lake St. Louis and Town & Country locations)
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct contract, budget/forecast, and profitability analysis
- Understand and articulate the various drivers that impact revenue and transportation costs; including but not limited to: utilization, member behavior, geographical variances, etc. and how they influence plan financials
- Participate and assist in execution of Plan Improvement/Financial Review meetings with Regional/Program Directors,, Operations, and various other department representatives to drive forward cost-saving opportunities, and financial understanding of associated plan/contract financials, from both an actual and a budget perspective
- Analyze factors driving any significant variances in revenue or transportation costs from prior month, budget/forecast, or other contract/plan/state expectations
- Understand and articulate the various drivers that impact plan allocations, including but not limited to: revenue ratios, trip ratios, call second ratios, etc., and how they influence plan financials
- Research any discrepancies identified within different operational expenses at a plan-level
- Assist in monthly forecasting and yearly budgeting of company-wide revenue and transportation expenses
- Develop and create more automated financial analytics
- Update monthly MLR report for month-end journal entries
- Update and distribute monthly, quarterly & annual financial client reporting
- Create financial reports for new clients, as specified in the RFP
- Provide timely client invoicing/billing
- Complete, book, and review monthly revenue accrual entries, along with account reconciliations/certifications, in alignment with month-end close deadlines
- Assist with managing cash collection
- Establish solid rapport with the different business units within the company to increase interdepartmental communication and input into performing research and analysis
- Assist with managing team workloads as needed to ensure deadlines are met
- Perform other special projects as assigned by management
What You’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Analytics
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Finance or Accounting role
- Previous data analysis experience
Even better if you have...
- Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work and meet established deadlines and goals
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, and Word, including creating and updating Pivot Tables, along with the ability to import/export data to/from various data sources
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or Tableau is preferred
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning, and/or a similar financial system and EPM software preferred
- Strong and accurate data analysis skills, with the ability to find truth within data sets
- Knowledge of general accounting processes and procedures
- Ability to hold other departments accountable for action items in various meetings
- Works well independently while simultaneously demonstrating effective analytical/problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain high level of ethics and confidentiality
- Ability to multitask in a sometimes-rapid paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Possess the skill to adapt and learn on the fly given frequent changes of course towards requests and research
- Excellent presentation skills
