We are looking to hire a Project Controls Manager for our Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Our Project Controls group provides data-driven company metrics by implementing life cycle processes throughout the company to drive key business decisions at all levels. The Project Controls Manager contributes oversight and accountability into key project life cycle metrics through people and process management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage project controls processes and consults with the Leadership team to ensure client satisfaction
- Ensure standard company, project, and client procedures are being adhered to.
- Manage a team of Project Controls individuals through expectations, communication, process, and accountability.
- Ensure transparency from Project Team to Leadership through key performance indicators.
- Responsible for the management of effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow and forecasts for multiple projects
- Lead and provide accountability in Job Cost Review process with Project Team up through Executive Leadership.
- Manage processes and workflow between Operations and Support Groups to promote communication and efficiency.
- Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues
- Oversee Business Unit risk management process to identify, communicate, and eliminate risks to Project Teams and Business Unit Leaders
- Interfaces with project management team and accounting department to review project costs and contingency costs and support external audits
- Intermediate knowledge in negotiation of agreements, construction contracts/subcontracts
- Manage the setup and tracking process of all aspects of a project including cost, schedule, productivity, billing, contracts, documents, materials, and equipment.
- Perform cost analysis on projects to identify potential issues to the project team.
- Track cash flow of projects from billing to collection
- Maintain budgets for a Business Unit, including forecasting and recommending adjustments to the overall budget.
- Control risk on subcontracts and purchase orders by reviewing Scope of Works and committed cost prior to being issued.
- Manage the change management process to ensure proper recognition of contract values and earned revenue.
- Assist in implementing new systems and processes as required.
- Analyze data from multiple systems and understand and communicate the relationship between the data sets.
- Maintain schedule management for scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting and document control
- The Project Controls Manager is responsible for the coaching, mentoring, development, and training of his/her staff per corporate guidelines. This includes but is not limited to:
- Performing employee reviews and participation in talent planning discussions,
- Ensuring continuing education is met every year,
- Managing personnel and staffing issues per corporate guidelines,
- Attend and hold all meetings that support or facilitate all the above
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or relevant field from a 4-year accredited University plus seven years of experience performing primary responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
- Proven ability to manage others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in Project Management & scheduling applications
- Experience with a Construction ERP
- Experience with Power BI a plus.
