Revenue Cycle Performance Excellence and Analytics Director
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for assessing, identifying, and leading ongoing performance initiatives/opportunities for revenue cycle operations, with a key focus on back-end business office operations. Responsibilities include measuring and monitoring performance against benchmark data, identifying trends and facilitating root cause discovery and action plans, creating improvement strategies, and implementing changes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following are general responsibilities associated with the job and are listed in order of greatest to least amount of time spent on the duties.
- Establish and maintain revenue cycle KPI reporting; utilize reporting to determine key performance opportunity areas
- Develop and manage relationships with leadership by facilitating regular meetings to present, review, and obtain feedback on performance improvement opportunities, discuss issues and trends, and ensure effective action plans are carried out effectively and timely
- Leverage industry information and ECP peer resources to understand national and regional trends/ opportunities for physician practice innovations
- Develop revenue cycle performance standards, quality standards, evaluate performance, and conduct performance management planning
- Manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
- Maintain an understanding of the revenue cycle, with a special focus on business office functions
- Write and generate reports from multiple disparate sources to use in analyzing key
- revenue cycle trends
- Prepare and analyze reports for revenue cycle leadership team and other ECP leadership
- Make performance improvement recommendations and assist in implementing and
- monitoring processes
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance
- measures
- Complete graph packages, presentations, and projects as assigned in a timely manner
- Demonstrate analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and problem solving
- Work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to:
- Eagerly accept additional responsibilities at the discretion of management
- Make decisions in an ethical/effective/sound manner, adhere to corporate compliance/risk management/safety standards, display an open-minded attitude, establish priorities, and organize time and resources to accomplish the job
- Adhere to ECP confidentiality policy which includes verbal, written, computer generated, computer accessed, filmed and recorded information related to patients, their family and visitors, staff, physicians, and clients
- Work in a safe manner and follow all ECP safety requirements; report all incidents, near misses, and adverse events
Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following are preferred qualifications associated with the job and will be under consideration.
- Preferred minimum 8 years of denials management, billing, or follow-up experience within a physician’s office or medical environment in a leadership role
- Experience in Optometry/Ophthalmology physician practice environment
- NextGen and Waystar software experience
- Ability to successfully meet demanding timelines

Education and Experience: The minimum level of education and experience required to perform the job at a satisfactory level.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business administration, management, or related field is preferred; however, progressive career experience in a healthcare administration role will be given strong consideration
- Project Management within a healthcare environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required; Power BI
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The minimum level of knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job at a satisfactory level.
- Maintain a complete understanding of the revenue cycle, with focus on mid- and back-end operations
- Track trends, inconsistencies, or discrepancies and resolve and/or escalate to a supervisor as appropriate
- HIPAA compliance is strictly followed in accordance with industry regulations
- May make recommendations regarding policies associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities.
