Job Description
As a Continous Improvement Engineer, you will support company strategy pertaining to processes alignment and streamlining within the plants by implementing and developing a lean culture and change process that can be shared across all areas of the business from front line to executive level. As a result, the firm will achieve maximum cost reduction, profit improvement, operational excellence, and customer benefits.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop Strategies: Develops, short and long-term strategies for the organization, incorporating lean tools and other practices. Facilitates progress and reduce costs, in terms of workflow inefficiencies.
- Lead Activities: Coordinates and leads key projects for improvement across all levels of the organization. He may supervise several teams directly or collaborate with managers to re-engineer processes.
- Monitor Progress: A crucial aspect of the continuous improvement methodology is monitoring progress in order to check if changes yield desirable results. Continuous improvement manager establishes measurable standards at the start of a project and then compares actual project results against these, regularly generating detailed update reports for management.
- Continuous Improvement Culture: Develops a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking in each plant. Promotes the sharing of best practices locally and globally.
- Lean Manufacturing Tools: Directs and facilitates the ongoing lean improvement process using techniques such as Kaizen, 5’S, TPM, Kanban, Value Stream Map, etc. Identifies the needs of each factory and applies the appropriate lean tools in each of them by taking into account the maturity level of each factory and the different cultures.
- Training: Identifies ongoing lean improvement training needs and assist with developing and implementing the required training.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, or Industrial)
- Solid experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing projects or process engineering : TPM (total productive maintenance), VSM (value stream mapping), WCM (World Class Manufacturing), Capex
- Excellent English command
- Ability to engage a cross-functional team towards a desired outcome
- Strong change management skills to include the practical implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Concepts and Tools
- Comfortable to travel frequently in France
